Lu sur cyberpresse.ca et sur le site du journal Le Monde : le magazine anglais Monocle, a publié la liste des 25 villes les plus agréables au monde. Critères de sélection: les transports pratiques et accessibles, la vie nocturne, l'offre culturelle, les espaces verts, les écoles, la sécurité. J'adore ce genre de compilation, puisque ca donne des idées de villes à visiter. Voici la liste, avec en bleu les villes où j'ai déjà posé pied. Les autres, j'ai pour but de toutes les visiter!

beyond the clothes hanger
Okay, the title of this entry is a bit shallow and unfair, but models to me have always come across as fancy clothes hangers. Supermodels were a bit different, they had an iconic face, a trademark look and a personality. Karen Elson came at the end of the supermodel era and her red hair and naughty little stare made her stand out from the other girls in the fashion world. Nevertheless, she was never one of those models who we knew anything about as a person. She didn't end up drawing furniture, putting out perfumes or writing her autobiography. All we knew was that she married Jack White, musician extraordinaire that he is, and then we learned that she'd be putting out an album. I admit, at first I was skeptical. Another model putting out a collection of songs. Would she have a good voice? Doubtful.
Well, today I went and gave a listen to the music she finally produced, and I have to say it really amazed me. Jack White is there, but doesn't come across as being the ventriloquist to his pretty puppet. Elson carries this pretty well with a pleasant voice over ornate arrangements that are not overly so . Bravo!
